The first par 3 is a shorter hole with a very difficult green, sloping away from the putting surface in all directions. If you hit in front of the hill it has a chance of rolling into the water. If you hit it long you have a difficult chip into a sloped green that runs toward the water. If you end up right or left you can roll all the way down the slope leaving a difficult blind shot to the green.
