Golf Outings
The Woods Golf Club holds over 70 outings a year for a reason. We pride ourselves on our outings and events and do everything we can to make a great experience for everyone involved. It is the main reason we were voted one of “Best of Bay” Finalist for Best Golf Course in 2010 by The Green Bay Press Gazette!
The Woods Pro Shop Staff will prepare the following for your event:
- Golf Cars with player names, starting holes, scorecards & itinerary for the days events.
- Put out Sponsor signs, event signs and any tables needed on the golf course.
- Assist in transporting outing staff and/or sponsors to their correct holes.
- Scoring for the event (We will put a summary sheet together for the MC).
- Assist with check-in if needed.
Planning Your Golf Outing
Choose the date:
- The Woods staff will assist you in finding the perfect date for your golf outing. We suggest having a few different dates in mind ahead of time. Golf starting time will also be needed to determine if a date is available. If you have a bigger size outing a shotgun start may be preferred.
Meet with The Woods:
- At this point we are still in the planning stages of the outing. This is where all the above information will be considered. You will want to set up a meeting with The Woods Golf Shop Manager and Banquet Manager and fine tune all the details for your upcoming outing.
Preparation:
- There are a few different types of outings. The two most common are company outings and fundraiser outings. The main priority for both, are signing up the golfers. The Woods can assist you with ideas to attract golfers for fundraiser outings. There a many ways to make money for fundraiser outings. Schedule a time with The Woods Golf Professional, to sit down and discuss ways to make your event a successful one.
- A week before your outing, The Woods will have to know the following information so that come event day, we are on the same page…
- Player list in their assigned foursome (Total number of golfers)
- Head count for lunch and/or dinner
- Tables needed on golf course
- Any extra carts needed for volunteers
- List of any on course hole events
Event Day:
- Arrive 2 hours before the golf start time to set up…
- Give pro shop staff any sponsor signs that would need to be on the course and anything (door prizes) that would need to be on carts.
- Registration table will be set up for your use to check players in and hand out anything they may need (drink tickets, door prizes)
- Golf Carts will be set up with names on them so players can find their cart easily. Also on carts will be official scorecard for the foursome and also the days itinerary sheet.
- Registration will end approximately ten minutes before the golf start time. At this time, the pro shop will hand out keys and make a few announcements.
- Five minutes before golf start time golfers will head out to their holes. We will sound a siren to start play! Now you can go golf or sit back and relax and enjoy the day
- The Woods will pick up all events on the golf course and do all scoring for you. We will provide a summary sheet for your MC to make it easy for you!
- Your day is just about finished. Hopefully The Woods staff did everything to make you and your golfers enjoy their experience at The Woods.
